1. Introduction
TraceWorld (“we”, “the app”) is a personal exploration map for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it. If you have questions, contact us at ligaofeng0901@gmail.com.
2. Information We Use
TraceWorld uses precise location from your device. We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or other personal profile data inside the app.
Location data is used only on your device to:
- Show your position on the map
- Record which map areas you have explored
- Draw your recent movement path
- Continue recording when auto-recording is enabled (including in the background or when the screen is locked)
- Calculate exploration level and progress
3. Where Data Is Stored
Exploration data, recent track data, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone (e.g. SQLite database and local files). We do not operate a server that receives or stores your location or exploration history.
4. Data Retention
- Explored areas — Kept on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
- Recent track — The app keeps a rolling window of recent movement (internally about 24 hours); older points are removed automatically.
- Settings — Stored locally (e.g. map style, language, track color).
5. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing or tracking.
The app uses Apple MapKit to display maps. Map tiles and related services are provided by Apple under their own terms and privacy practices. TraceWorld does not send your exploration or track history to Apple as part of our app logic.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the production app.
6. Background Location
Background location is used only when you turn on auto-recording (press and hold the center button on the map for about one second). This allows continuous exploration and recent-track recording when the app is in the background or your screen is locked. You can turn auto-recording off at any time.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Deny or limit location in iOS Settings → TraceWorld → Location
- Turn auto-recording on or off in the app
- Hide the recent track in Settings
- Delete all app data by removing the app from your device
8. Children’s Privacy
TraceWorld is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at the email above.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
